Despite buying my home several years ago, I liken all of the things that make it ‘run’ to Leo DiCaprio on a yacht full of bikini clad models, not very approachable.

I acclimated to living with leaking faucets and rotted door frames, because I had lovely paintings in other frames and so many decorative pillows to lie my head on and dream of perfect Instagram houses while ignoring all that was falling apart around me.

If you are here because you can relate, I’m glad -not because neither of us are knowledgeable enough install a new light fixture or construct our own kitchen cabinets (yet), but because we are ready to begin understanding how a house works, enough to avoid hefty repair bills from sheer neglect.
